Hydrospeed (Riverboarding)

If rafting seems exciting, Hydrospeed is total immersion. Here there is no raft or paddles: just you, a riverboard, and fins. It is the purest and most direct way to feel the power of the Trancura River in its lower section.

  • Being at water level, the waves look giant and the speed feels double. You will learn to "surf" the current, catch the water lines, and maneuver through the frothy Class III swells. It is a very active and refreshing physical challenge, ideal for strong swimmers who seek direct contact with the water.
  • The Sensation: Liquid Adrenaline. You will feel the temperature, the force, and the roar of the river vibrating in your chest. A 100% aquatic experience.

This activity is much more personal than rafting. Going solo on your board, you decide which wave to take and how to move, always under the close supervision of our safety guides in kayaks and rafts. It is the perfect physical challenge for those seeking to push their limits and feel the water's energy without filters. All thermal gear is included; you just bring the attitude.

A Glimpse to the Hydrospeed

Balsa

La Bandera (II-II)

First rapid, long and fun like a rollercoaster.

Trencito Corto (II)

A very fun rapid that serves as training and preparation for what comes next.

Trencito Largo III

A rapid of similar intensity to "Trencito Corto," but longer.

El Pescador (III-IV)

The biggest rapid in this section. We must kick hard to overcome a large wave at the end.

La Junta (III)

If you thought the waves were big, now they get bigger. The Trancura River meets the Liucura River.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Although the wetsuit and life jacket keep you afloat, you must feel comfortable in the water and have the physical ability to kick with fins and move in currents.

It is a more exposed activity, but we descend in the lower section of the river (Class III), which is fun and safe. You are always accompanied by safety guides in kayaks and rafts.

We recommend not wearing sunglasses or prescription glasses unless they have a very secure sports strap (water hits your face constantly). You can bring your GoPro if you have a helmet mount, at your own risk.

Due to the physical demand and the need for autonomy in the water, the recommended minimum age is 14 years old (subject to guide evaluation and the minor's physical build).
